Everybody around here is getting excited about President Bush coming to Germany. According to the "Deutschlandfunk" interview with Gary Smith; head of the American Academy in Berlin, Bush's visit here is seen optimistically. The USA and Europe working together in these troubled times cannot be avoided. Iran not Iraq will be the subject of this probe to strengthen and reactivate the American-European Alliance.

Preventing Iran from achieving nuclear armament is a key ingredient for Germany, which has a historic responsibilty for the security of Israel.

President Bush will meet with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder in Mainz, Germany this Wednesday.
