Terror Timeline: Can You Connect the Dots?
Complete Terror Timeline What shocked me most was the amount of factual information that is presented in this book that to this point I had never heard. One shocking factor that came out in THE TERROR TIMELINE was the relatively well known throughout the Middle Eastern community of Manhattan just prior to 9/11. The book identifies several factors, including FBI reports of childen telling school-teachers of the impending attacks the day before they happened, a rash of Middle Eastern taxi drivers that took the day off on 9/11, and many more stories like this. It is stunning. This project takes an overall look at US government/military/CIA interventions around the world over the past century. It organises the information into regions and countries, for each country giving a timeline highlighting particular intervention(s) while supplying a small context surrounding the events. While attempting to simply report events as they occurred, the project presents a generally critical view of these interventions with respect to US intentions and the results of the US actions, whereby the ever-repeated rhetoric of supporting “democracy,” and “freedom” is shown to be somewhat at odds with the reality. Key events include the following: * The CIA's overthrow of democratic governments in Guatemala, Brazil, Chile, Guyana, Iran, Indonesia and Congo. * The CIA's overthrow of Iraq's government in 60's and hand in the bringing in of Saddam to power. * US terrorism in Nicaragua leading to condemnation by the World Court. * CIA training and support of death squads and repressive secret police in Iran, Indonesia, El Salvador, Chile, Guatemala and Vietnam.
